Mixing / Mastering

Creating music is an extremely personal process that many artists are rightfully very protective of.  When you hire a Mix Engineer, not only are you trusting them to bring your song or project up to an industry standard for release, but to also respect your musical vision while elevating it beyond what you could have hoped for.

Recording

Have you ever felt that you perform best when you’re working on your music from the comfort of your own home, or hanging out with friends, but then when it comes to capturing it in the studio, something falls flat?

The vocal performance is arguably the most important and personal aspect of recording a song and large studios with expensive hourly or day rates can often be intimidating.

As soon as you step into Serenity SoundWorks, your first impression will be of comfort and spaciousness. where you will be able to get into the creative mindset you need to record the vocal performance of your life.

Instead of a cramped vocal booth or additional live room, you will be able to record and freely communicate with your musical collaborators, producer or engineer in a treated control room/lounge.

Tracking Rates are $50/hour

After 3 hours, Every additional is $25/hour

Location Recording for Film Sets and Live Performances is also available.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do you charge for recording and what does it include?

It is $50/hour to book the studio and your time comes with an engineer to run the session. Mixing is not included in the recording price, that is a separate process. You will leave with the raw audio files that we captured during the session for you to continue working with, or send elsewhere for mixing if you so choose!

Do you have deals for multiple songs or larger projects?

The “Per Song” and “Per Hour” rates are common for when people have very specific recording needs for a single or a couple of songs.  If you plan to spend a lot of time recording and want to get multiple songs mixed, fill out our contact form so we can start a conversation about what you hope to achieve and the budget you are working with.

Do you work with any audio besides music?

Serenity SoundWorks is equipped to record Voice Overs for commercials or animation, as well as ADR for film.  There are a variety of industry standard vocal microphones to choose from and a large external monitor for reading lines or referencing a video.  Audio repair, denoising and other audio post production services may also be available upon request.

What kind of equipment and software do you have available?

The main system consists of a Focusrite ISA Dual Mono preamp running into Apogee Duet 2 converters.  There is also a 10 input option with the SoundDevices Mixpre10T, though it is mainly used for location recording. The DAW in use is Protools and it is kept up to date.
The main microphones are a Neumann TLM 107, a Rode NT2a that has been modded to be a U87 clone, the classic Shure SM7B and a Sennheiser MKH 416 shotgun microphone.  There are a variety of other microphones like SM57s, 58s, Rode NT5’s etc. that are used for larger sessions or when vocals are not the focus.

Can you record full bands?

Accomodations can be made under certain circumstances, but typically Serenity SoundWorks focuses on Vocal Production and Recording, Overdubs, Voice Overs and Mixing/Mastering.  The main issue would be properly recording drums. If your band wants advice on where to record great drum tracks, and then finish your record here, we would love to be involved!
